My art is a reflection of human nature, focusing on identity, emotions,spirituality, consciousness, and the environment. My medium of choice is oil paint, yet I experiment with linoleum cut designs, charcoal, conte, and mixed media collage materials. Use of line form, organic shapes, and use of color are key elements in my art that distinguishes my technique when creating a composition. The intent of my faceless figurative forms provides an opportunity for my audience to connect with my work. Social issues, history, culture, and my spirituality inspires my work, while artists like Jacob Lawrence, Kara Walker, Synthia St. James, Aaron Douglas, and Diego Rivera influence my style and artform of work that expresses narratives of social, spiritual, and cultural consciousness and awareness.
